Aligned in Purpose: Tatanka and Edsim
At Tatanka Leather, we’ve always been intentional about the suppliers we bring into our network. We look for partners who deliver consistency in quality, maintain full transparency in their processes, and share our commitment to responsible, sustainable leather production. Edsim checks all of those boxes — and more — which is why we are proud to have them as a key supplier.
Edsim is a family-owned leather group based in New York City, producing core leathers for footwear, handbags, apparel, and other industries. Every article starts with Argentinian hides, tanned into crust and wet blue at LWG-certified facilities in Argentina and Brazil. From there, finishing is carried out either in Johnstown, NY, or Brazil, depending on the needs of the article. This structure allows Edsim to maintain control, oversight, and traceability at every step.
What makes Edsim stand out is their thorough quality control process. With teams on the ground in Argentina, Brazil, and Johnstown, each stage is carefully monitored — from grading and trimming to color matching and final inspection. This level of attention ensures that the leather arriving to us, and ultimately to our customers, is consistent and reliable.
Equally important is Edsim’s environmental responsibility. All of their articles are produced in ISO-14001 certified tanneries and finished at LWG Gold Rated facilities, meeting the highest benchmarks for sustainability in the industry. For Tatanka, this alignment with strict environmental and ethical standards is non-negotiable.
Our partnership with Edsim reflects what we value most: suppliers who combine decades of expertise with measurable accountability. We are proud to work with them because they help us deliver what our customers expect from Tatanka Leather — quality, traceability, and responsibility in every hide.
